Principal's Corner

Principal Vance

Beaver Meadow Principal Michele Vance has over 20 years of experience in public education as a teacher assistant, teacher, and administrator. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1998. She received her Master’s degree in Administration from Rivier University in 2011. Prior to beginning her teaching career, Principal Vance was an active duty Air Force member, trained as a medical administrative specialist, from 1988 until 1996. While stationed in Tokyo, Japan she taught conversational English to businessmen and their children. This experience led her in the direction to begin coursework in elementary education.

While living in Alaska, Principal Vance taught kindergarten and first, fourth and sixth grade. When her family relocated to New Hampshire, she taught multi-age ¾ in Nashua for five years, then looped from fourth to fifth grade for the next six years. In 2011, she accepted the Assistant Principal position at Pollard School in Plaistow, New Hampshire. Ms. Vance proudly became principal at Beaver Meadow School in 2016.

Principal Vance and the Beaver Meadow staff believe that we must work collaboratively to educate students socially, emotionally, and academically. We ensure that Concord School District’s “Sacred Seven” are a focus of teaching and learning:

We strive for all students to practice and become

  • active self-directed learners
  • effective collaborators
  • informed decision makers
  • creative producers
  • effective communicators
  • life planners, and
  • community participants
