Principal's Corner

Principal Vance

Beaver Meadow Principal Michele Vance has over 20 years of experience in public education as a teacher assistant, teacher, and administrator. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1998. She received her Master’s degree in Administration from Rivier University in 2011. Prior to beginning her teaching career, Principal Vance served in the Air Force from 1988 until 1996.  As an active duty service member, she was trained as a medical administrative specialist. While stationed in Tokyo, Japan she taught conversational English. This experience led her in the direction to begin coursework in elementary education.

While living in Alaska, Principal Vance taught kindergarten, first, fourth and sixth grade. When her family relocated to New Hampshire, she taught multi-age 3/4 in Nashua for five years, then looped from fourth to fifth grade for the next six years. Principal Vance loved being a classroom teacher, but desired to expand her knowledge to help make decisions that impacted students schoolwide.  She began the journey of completing coursework in administration. In 2011, she gratefully accepted the Assistant Principal position at Pollard School in Plaistow, New Hampshire. Ms. Vance proudly became Principal at Beaver Meadow School in 2016.

Principal Vance is an avid reader and enjoys all genres except scary stories.  Hiking, bird watching, and spending time with family and friends are her favorite past times.  She is a country music fan and loves to attend theatre productions. She has two beautiful children, her son, Connor is in college studying Forensic Science and her daughter, Mary is enjoying her high school years participating on the track, basketball, and soccer teams.
